CANCER CROSSING HAS ASSISTED PATIENT WITH CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY WHEELS OF HOPE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FEE

Cancer Crossing has assisted a Winnipeg man with Stage IV lung cancer.

Due to fatigue from the cancer and treatment, mobility issues and financial struggles, he is finding it difficult to get to his appointments at CancerCare.
He was referred to the Canadian Cancer Society Wheels of Hope transportation service program. He could not afford their fee so they made an exception and gave him a discount. He cannot afford even the discounted fee, so Cancer Crossing has covered the fee on his behalf.

CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS PROSTATE CANCER PATIENT WITH PHYSIOTHERAPY

Cancer Crossing has assisted a Western Manitoba gentleman with prostate cancer.

He had complications post surgery which required two more surgeries. He may require radiation but that is yet to be determined.
This man has worked with the same employer for many years and worked up until his initial surgery, but to date has been unable to return to work and is receiving disability through his employer.
He has done everything to help himself including moving closer to the location of his medical appointments which is also where his family and supports are located.
He was referred to physiotherapy and he has Blue Cross, but now he has reached the yearly maximum. His physiotherapist has recommended further sessions but he is unsure how he will manage the costs until his benefits renew.
Cancer Crossing has made a contribution to assist with his physiotherapy expenses.

CANCER CROSSING HELPS WITH MEDICATION COSTS AND NUTRIENT RICH FOODS

Cancer Crossing has assisted a Winnipeg gentleman with metastatic lung cancer.

He is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation and is currently on regular EI benefits. At this level of income, he can barely cover basic living expenses but he also has medications and is trying to eat a proper diet while on chemotherapy. He has applied for EIA Disability but is waiting for approval. In the meantime, he has been relying on soup kitchens and food banks for food donations but unfortunately, the food he receives from those sources are not nutrient rich as would be preferable for someone on chemo.
Cancer Crossing has made a contribution to this patient for medication and nutritional foods hoping that his EIA Disability starts soon.
