JOIN OUR TEAM! VOLUNTEER 'IT' POSITION AVAILABLE AT CANCER CROSSING!

Season’s Greetings to our followers!

Cancer Crossing is expanding its volunteer base and we have an opportunity to fill our volunteer ‘IT’ position.  We are a 100% volunteer based Canadian not for profit organization, where donations accumulated support cancer patients who are struggling financially.

Our organization is in need of a web/graphic designer (university student, graduate or seasoned professional) that is looking to volunteer a few times per month.  This is largely a remote position with the exception of a volunteer team meeting approximately once every six weeks in Winnipeg.

We are looking for someone fluent in website hosting, WordPress, PHP, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.

You would maintain our website by performing WordPress and plugin updates, providing ongoing testing including link scans, accessibility testing and design/content updates.

CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS RURAL CERVICAL CANCER PATIENT WITH URBAN ACCOMMODATION EXPENSE

Cancer Crossing has assisted a woman with cervical cancer from the Parkland region of Manitoba. She is receiving concurrent chemotherapy and radiation and needs to be in Winnipeg to receive her treatment. She is staying at a facility that has reduced rates for patients who live in the rural areas, but need to be in Winnipeg for treatment. Prior to getting ill she worked in retail. Her husband was self employed. She has applied for EI sickness benefits but her application seems to have hit a roadblock. Since her husband was self employed, he did not contribute to EI and he has since lost his income as he has taken time away from working to look after her. Not receiving any benefits has made it very difficult for them to manage their expenses. Cancer Crossing has made a contribution to towards her accommodation and we hope that she can start receiving her benefits very soon. Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'. Please support our cause so we can continue to assist cancer patients! We are receiving many requests. Cheques may be mailed to Cancer Crossing Inc., 1-1660 Kenaston Blvd., PO Box 70029, Winnipeg, MB R3P 0X6 or you can contribute by PayPal on our website. Buying our book 'Cancer Crossing' at AccuCare Canada, 400 Tache in Winnipeg or at The Unexpected Gift, 1116 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg helps cancer patients too. You can also buy a book through us directly at info@cancercrossing.com 100% of your donation goes to cancer patients. We are all volunteers and all of our operating expenses are paid by Sponsors.
