CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS MULTIPLE MYELOMA PATIENT WITH TRAVEL TO WINNIPEG AND MEDICATION COSTS

Cancer Crossing has assisted a woman from the Interlake Region of Manitoba.  She has Multiple Myeloma which has further complicated her existing health concerns.

She is awaiting placement in Long Term Care and is residing in the hospital until a spot opens up for her.  She has been denied CPP-D due to insufficient contributions and is on limited EIA.  She recently travelled to Winnipeg for radiation for symptom control and will be beginning chemotherapy.  She is paneled and responsible for personal expenses.  She has had additional expenses related to travel to Winnipeg for radiation treatment and medication not covered under her health card.  She is struggling financially and so Cancer Crossing has made a contribution towards her travel costs to Winnipeg and medications not covered under her health card.

Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'.

CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS YOUNG PATIENT WITH FUEL AND PARKING TO ACCESS CARE AT THE PRINCESS MARGARET CANCER CENTRE IN TORONTO

Cancer Crossing has assisted a very young woman living on the outskirts of Toronto.  She has acute myeloid leukemia.

Her treatment is life consuming and her parents are taking her to blood work and doctor reviews twice a week plus ER visits.  She is almost two hours away from the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in downtown Toronto and the cost of fuel and parking for her and her family have become a struggle.  The family has been able to access some funding from Ontario Works, so they are really trying to help themselves but still, they are financially stressed.

Cancer Crossing is pleased to help this young woman with the cost of fuel and parking as she continues her treatment at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
