CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS WINNIPEG BREAST CANCER PATIENT WITH COMPRESSION GARMENTS

Cancer Crossing has assisted a Winnipeg breast cancer patient.

She has been self employed for almost two decades cleaning homes.  She has always tried to do her best in life by keeping her bills paid and giving back to her community through volunteer work.
Her diagnosis came out of the blue - the result of a mammogram and biopsy.  Her visit to CancerCare came at a time when she was happily anticipating the birth of a grandchild.  In her own words "My daughter had baby...I was so happy but so sad with emotions".  Very quickly surgery ensued.

Being self employed cleaning homes, her income was never substantial.  She did not opt for private insurance should a medical condition occur.  She has had to purchase compression garments to be worn post surgery for 6 weeks or so and the cost is a financial stressor to her.

Cancer Cancer has provided her with the funds for her compression garments.

Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'.
