Cancer Crossing has assisted a gentleman from the southwest corner of Manitoba. He has a relapsed lymphoma and has been admitted to hospital in Winnipeg for a stem cell transplant. Once discharged, he will need to remain in Winnipeg for at least six weeks.
He is self-employed and has no sick benefits. His wife is applying for EI caregiver benefit so income is very limited. He and his wife have secured subsidized accommodation in Winnipeg and are doing all they can to find sources of financial aid as they still need to maintain their home in rural Manitoba while in Winnipeg.
Cancer Crossing has made a contribution to this patients cost of travel to Winnipeg for treatment and hospital parking as he is struggling greatly. We hope his treatment is successful and that he is successful in finding other sources of financial support to keep him and his wife fiscally above water.
Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'.
