Cancer Crossing has assisted a 56 year old gentleman from western Manitoba with rectal cancer.
He had a difficult upbringing which included abuse, abandonment and living on the streets resulting in a life of anxiety and depression. He has done a lot of work to turn his life around. He is married and he and his wife are providing a stable home environment for their step granddaughter. They took her in when his stepdaughter proved she was not fit to parent.
He is on CPP Disability and his wife works in a care home.
He needs to travel two hours one way to Brandon for radiation treatment. The cost of travel for this course of radiation is a financial hardship for this family.
Cancer Crossing has provided financial support to this gentleman to help with the cost of his travels to Brandon for radiation treatment.
Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'.
