CANCER CROSSING ASSISTS ELDERLY GENTLEMAN WHOSE ONLY METHOD OF TRANSPORT TO TREATMENT IS VIA HIS SISTER WHO RESIDES IN ANOTHER COMMUNITY

Cancer Crossing has assisted a gentleman from rural Manitoba who has renal cell carcinoma.

He has decreased mobility and is unable to access the volunteer driving program in his community because his mobility is too compromised for the program.  The Wheels of Hope Program has no available drivers in his area either.

His only income is CPP/OAS plus a federal supplement. He had a bit more money before but fell victim to an elderly financial scam.

His sister is able to assist him with transport to and from his medical and treatment appointments, but she does not live in his community so she must commute to attend to his travel needs.

Cancer Crossing has provided financial assistance to this gentleman and his sister for fuel, so that travel to his medical care can be achieved.

Cancer Crossing helps those who 'fall between the cracks'.
