Not long ago Cancer Crossing was contacted by a middle aged woman who needed help. A relatively recent resident of Canada, she was here as a student and now as a temporary worker. Her family situation is complicated and she has little emotional support and no financial support beyond her small salary. She received a diagnosis of cervical cancer and had to wait a few months for her Manitoba Health coverage to kick in before she could have surgery and treatment. She truly was between a rock and a hard place with no where to turn. Fortunately she approached Cancer Crossing and we were able to provide a bit of assistance.
