When you are on CPP, OAS and GIC, have no savings and nothing left over at the end of the month it doesn't take much to put you in a precarious position. This was the case for a women from north-western Manitoba. She is in her early 70s and was diagnosed with leukemia. She had limited assistance from family but couldn't find the money to travel to Winnipeg for testing. Cancer Crossing helped out with a donation to pay for travel costs.
