Client #265
Cancer Crossing assisted a 75-year-old male who was diagnosed with Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia. He preferred to maintain his independence by driving himself to local appointments. However, limited Handicap parking forced him to use Handy-Van transportation, which became expensive. He enrolled in the Wheels of Hope program for his long-distance travel to medical appointments in Winnipeg, but the unavailability of drivers sometimes necessitated the use of alternative and costly transportation services.
